Ruth’s role as Community Engagement Officer is to encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to explore and enjoy All Saints North Street as a living church, a fascinating heritage site, and a welcoming space to enjoy time with our community.

Ruth organises events, recruits and manages volunteers, runs outreach projects, and publicises activities on the church’s social media channels. Prior to working at All Saints North Street, Ruth was an academic historian working on research projects and teaching at the Universities of Exeter and York and Nottingham Trent University. She is passionate about widening access to historical research and is also currently a Community Lead for York’s developing Local History Hub.
